From October 6-11 I had the honor to accompany Shi Fu Alex Czech on a trip to our Kung Fu
family in Lecce, Italy.
The purpose of the trip was to prepare the higher students of my Kung Fu brother Toni
Carrozzini for the next belt exam, as well as to further strengthen our friendship. For the
former, we had two longer training sessions during the day, in the park when the weather was
good and in the gym when it was worse.
Saturday evening Chiara and Giulia proved their new knowledge and successfully passed the
yellow belt exam under Shi Fu Alex Czech.
At the same time I instructed the beginner group together with Andrea.
After and between the training sessions there was a lot of fooling around, siteseeing and
enjoying the Italian cuisine.
The trip was concluded with a Krav Maga Workshop in the Muy Thai school of Fabio Siciliani,
an old student of Toni.
On Saturday 8th October I took the test for yellow sash, and I'm happy to say I passed it.
The day before the test, I had the chance to practice about all the parts of the program
with Jiao Lien Pascal, which underlined the details I was missing, and helped me to correct
mistakes. That training made me feel under pressure, because I was thinking at the test as
something scary and I was afraid to embarrass myself in front of Shi Ye Alex. When the
moment of the test came, I actually realized we weren't in a stressful climate at all. Shi
ye Alex started the test with a great smile, telling us this was just a chance to show
everything we've learnt and also to still learn something new. This was very important to
me, since I imagined the test session to be very different from trainings, I somehow
expected Shi Ye Alex to be silent and just looking at us without saying a word, in order to
express his judgement only at the end. Conversely he corrected us after every sequence,
giving us advice to improve ourselves. This is the reason why, at the end of the test, when
Shi Ye Alex told us he was not going to give the result right away, I said I actually didn't
mind: even if I didn't pass the test, I knew I learnt something new. But then, when I was
given the sash and the diploma in front of everybody, I felt incredibly proud of what I did.
From the 6th to the 8th of October, we had the pleasure to get together with the German
member of the family of tien shan pai, Shi Ye Alex and Jiao Lian Pascal, in order to train
and to spend some quality time together.
Trainings took place both in our school and at the park, and were aimed to correct and
enhance our knowledge about tien shan pai style. Practicing was enjoyable and stimulating,
also strongly dedicated to the individual lacks of each of us. Shi ye Alex is always able to
create a productive space in which playing and challenging are remarkably balanced, also
with the alternation of situations of tension, which we need to be able to face, and
situations of lightheartedness.
Explanations to each movement were always exhaustive and helped by practical demonstration
in order to facilitate the comprehension of the techniques.
I would like also to thank Jiao Lien Pascal for his limitless patience and for the love he
put in teaching, making him a perfect big brother.
Comparison is always at the basis to improvement, and this experience allowed me to
understand at which point of my path I am, it made ma realize my errors and the weaknesses I
need to work on in the future months to get to my aims.

Last Saturday I have done my sash exam and it was carried out in a really nice way! I am
always nervous in situation like this, I was even trembling at the beginning, but shi ye
Alex helped me a lot with it.
His method of examination was calming and did not put pressure on me and on my exam partner.
He joked a lot and made us feel at ease while still being attentive about our movements and
explaining us our mistakes. It was really a great experience.
